Single storey extension and internal alterations to a 17th century house. Planning permission and listed building consent had previously been refused on this listed building, but working with a new designer, the owner employed the heritage team to assist with design guidance and heritage advice, with its architects fine-tuning the finished design.
The single-storey extension has evolved the building in a traditional manner, using locally distinctive materials to correspond with the existing house and local area. This provides more kitchen space and has enabled the interior of the 18th century element to be carefully remodelled to provide additional amenity.
The design team also worked on construction details for the scheme prior to its implementation.
